A Guide to Creating a Music Room
If you play an instrument or just like listening to the sound of different genres, consider turning an area of your home into a music room. With this space, you can hone your skills and listen to great compositions, perhaps even make some of your own.
In addition, this portion of the home can double as an entertainment venue where guests can have jam sessions. The following paragraphs provide some detailed instructions so you can get started right away.
Start by taking a look at all the music materials that you have. Divide and organise them into categories - books, charts, and song sheets. Once that is done, you can then decide which items you would like to display.
If have quite a collection of old albums, think about building or installing shelves on your wall. You can either attach simple wooden panels or opt for furniture that has multiple storage units. Either way, make sure that you alphabetise your records so you can quickly find the artist that you are looking for.
Collect all your CDs and place them on appropriate racks under your albums. Arrange them in the same way as your old records for easy retrieval. Having all your musical inspiration in one corner will enable you to access any of them conveniently.
Next, place your stereo equipment close to your mini music library. Remember to set your speakers far enough apart. This ensures the even distribution of sound throughout the room. Decorate the walls with framed musical artworks. Autographed photos of your favourite artists, framed guitar picks, and gold records also make great alternatives. You could even hang your violin or guitar on the wall.
